Warranty Information

Rembrandt Caravans warrants the items we manufacture. Each supplier warrants major components such as the appliances and the chassis separately as they have the expertise in relation to their products.

To expedite a successful outcome where assistance is required, your first contact should be your selling dealer who will advise you on your course of action.

Ball to bumper cover & Structural Warranty

Rembrandt Caravans warrants that for a period of one (1) year from the date of handover, any short comings in the original material or manufacture of the van will be correct without charge to the original purchaser for parts and labour incurred in that rectification. All parts must be returned to Kilmore RV, prior to replacement parts being dispatched to customers. Before warranty work is performed by external repairers - Proof of claim must be shown to Kilmore RV via email with photos.

For a period of three (3) years, you are covered against any structural failure to the caravan.
The structural warranty includes the chassis, walls, furniture and roof.
Caravans include equipment and fittings, such as cooking appliances, tyres and toilets, which are separately warranted by their manufacturer and not covered by the caravan manufacturer Warranty. If necessary, your claim will be referred on to the appropriate supplier who will manage a resolution to your claim.
Rembrandt Caravans will ensure that any warranty claim made against this cover will be processed in a timely manner within receipt and will either accept or deny the claim.
The customer must ensure that the van is serviced regularly in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines. This should not exceed 12 months or 10,000kms, which ever occurs first. Your van must have its first service after 3 months or 1000Kms (Which ever comes first).
An allowance of no more than 30 days or 500 kms beyond the stated intervals will be accepted by Rembrandt Caravans.
The customer has a duty of care to ensure the maintenance of the caravan and roadworthiness is up to date and also holds the responsibility to transport the caravan to & from the repair shop to have necessary works undertaken, in the event of warranty works required.

Assessment and Authorisation

The assessment of any claims against the structural warranty can be conducted at an approved caravan repair facility. Mobile Repairers are welcomed to assess and perform warranty works however Rembrandt caravans will not cover any associated 'call out fees' under warranty.

Limits and liabilities

The maximum amount payable whilst this Warranty is in force for the total of all claims, shall not exceed the Market Value of the Caravan at the time of claim, as determined by us the manufacturer.

This Warranty does not cover:

  • Caravans modified beyond manufacturer's specifications or used for hire or commercial purposes.

  • Compensation for lost use.

  • Compensation for having to rent accommodation whilst repairs take place.

  • Any damage due to misuse, fire, accident, theft, impact, submersion in water, neglect, abuse, infestation by animals, rodents, insects, rust, corrosion.

  • Items not installed by the original Caravan manufacturer or fitted after the sale of the Caravan.

  • Any damage caused by towing with incorrect tyre pressure, overloading, incorrect towing equipment.

  • The warranty will also not extend to specific types of damage including wear and tear when the caravan has been used for permanent living purposes, tears, punctures, and fading to fabric items; or damage caused by alterations or repairs being undertaken by an unauthorised repairer.

  • All electrical and gas appliances used for a purpose other than which it was designed; used for commercial purposes;
    in an accident.

  • Off Road / Semi Off Road caravans have been constructed with additional strength in the chassis suspension and ground clearance, for limited unsealed road usage. Gas venting regulations and other construction restraints limit the effectiveness of these caravans against dust and water penetration. Under no circumstances should these caravans be exposed to water crossings at, or above, body floor level. We strongly recommend towing at safe speed according to travel conditions with extra care and attention required on uneven surfaces. Our off-road caravans are not designed for hard impact or heavy landings or severely rutted roads or tracks. Off-road suspensions are not designed for use on four-wheel drive only tracks. The following items for off-road caravans are not covered under warranty:

  • Impact or stone damage to body, chassis or running gear.

  • Soiling of fabrics and internal fitments from dust and other airborne substances.

  • Water damage due to water crossings.

  • Movement or damage caused by dislodgment of appliances and fittings resulting from hard impact or heavy landings or severely rutted roads or tracks.

  • General damage arising from misuse.

  • The Warranty does not extend to maintenance items which are the responsibility of the purchaser.
